Campfire Program
Campfire Plan
Available as a standalone doc to printout and take with you on the campout! (includes a sign-up form in same doc)
Checklist
Master of ceremonies (MC)
Wood & kindling. Start fire early? Or do a fire-lighting ceremony
Skits, songs, acts (see attachment for signup sheet)
Bucket with water or shovel nearby for putting out fire
Introduction & Etiquette:
If you’ve heard the joke, don’t yell out the punch line! If you fail, you will wear this dumb hat or go stand in the corner of campfire shame.
Speak UP!
Be supportive; if you’re not doing an act/skit/joke, you can still clap/laugh/etc.
No flashlights- ruins the mood.
MC announces the current skit and the NEXT one so you can get ready.
S’mores AFTER campfire ending
Closing
Scout Vespers (repeat after me)
Sung to the tune of “Oh Christmas Tree”
Softly falls the light of day,
While our campfire fades away.
Silently each scout should ask,
Have I done my daily task?
Have I kept my honor bright?
Can I guiltless sleep tonight?
Have I done and have I dared
Everything to be prepared?"
